Cooperation simulation laundry care

The objective of the cooperation project is the Research of the laundry process from a scientific perspective. The laundry process is an arbitrarily complex and partially stochastic process. To understand it as a whole, we are researching the influencing factors and their interrelations.

The Sinner circle is served as a motivation basis. Thus, the washing performance is determined by the factors mechanics, chemistry, temperature and time. The water is functioned as a transmission medium.

With the combination of theoretical knowledge, empirical findings, results of real-life tests and conclusions of simulation models we are optimizing the washing process over the current state of the art.

Development

In the context of the innovation network Berlin metal and electronic industry a foundation for a long cooperation of the BSH household appliances GmbH and the Universities of Berlin (Beuth University for Technology in Berlin, the University for Technology and Economy in Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin) was laid in 2010. With the signing of a framework research contract in the field of laundry care another significant step was made, 2011.

At the same time simulation laundry care was formed as a long term individual project and is considered as lighthouse project within the cooperation and moreover, ever since.
