Simulation of a wave channel with the help of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and the finite volume method as a direct comparison of both numerical solutions

Abridged version

The primary objective of the work is to display the movement of the free flowing water surface with the help of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and the finite volume method. Furthermore, the simulation results should be validated and evaluated with the measurements of the real wave channel. Finally, both numerical procedures should be contrasted and to specify the particular applications using the example of the wave channel. The calculation should be executed with an own software package as well as with the freely available software DualSPHysics.
